puppy dogs

Some time ago, I posted a flyer on our local community bulletin board offering my services as a dog walker in the afternoon. Our neighborhood is very dog friendly and many people don't just have one, but several dogs in their homes. Since my day job happens to be in front of my computer at home, I can always fit in a couple of hours of doing something else, even when I'm working on a big project. Dog walking seemed to be the smart thing to do.

Someone finally called me about the ad yesterday and they are in need of someone to walk their dog, a Labrador Retriever, once a day in the afternoon while they're away at work. The dog in question is a six-month-old puppy and they're just the cutest at that stage. ^^ The people don't really want me to do much with her - just come in, feed her, and take her out for about 15 minutes. They'll pay me $10 for each time, or $160 a month for this, which is a good deal for 20 minutes' time no matter which way you look at it.

So tomorrow evening I'll be going over to their house to meet family and puppy. And to get the key to their house so I can get in on Wednesday. I never thought people would pay me to play with cute little puppies. ^^ Here's to hectic Washington, DC work schedules that are forcing people to hand their dogs to me. And to making the equivalent of $30.20 an hour to play with a dog.

Wow, I think that is a very good deal. Nothinmg than a good walk to give a break to computer-work and than being paid for it. How can you ask better? Cool!

I think it's an excellent deal. I can definitely use the workout and a break from the computer. Plus the people are neighbors, they live up by the pool. ^^
